What shapes the programme

Built around situations, not syllables.

Most language courses front-load grammar rules before you ever hear how a sentence sounds in context. Sparkequity flips that — every session starts with a real scenario, then unpacks the language that makes it work.

Participants work through exercises modelled on actual travel moments: buying a shinkansen ticket, asking a konbini clerk to heat something up, or politely declining at a market stall.

  • Scenario-first structure — context before rules
  • Audio-paired exercises with native-speaker recordings
  • Collaborative tasks designed for small international groups
  • Written and spoken components in every session
Who attends and why
Remote-first All workshops run online, with participants joining from Australia, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Americas.
No prior Japanese The programme is designed for complete beginners. You don't need to know hiragana before starting — reading basics are covered in the first two sessions.
Practical ceiling Workshops stop at functional traveller fluency — the kind that gets you through a two-week trip without a translation app in your pocket every minute.
